Penguins fan, looking for love, gets brutally rejected during Game 3.

That's gotta hurt.

Jonathan Larivee

Saturday night was a big night if you're a fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins, except maybe if you just so happen to be this one particular Penguins fan.

During Game 3 of the first round Stanley Cup playoff matchup between the aforementioned Penguins and the New York Rangers, cameras caught a Penguins fan that was looking for love and failed horribly in his quest to find it. The hopeful fan was live and in attendance at PPG Paints Arena for Game 3 on Saturday night and it would appear that he was also accompanied by a young woman at the game.

Sometimes fans can get a little excited when celebrating a big moment during the game, and there was one such big moment in the game's third period when Penguins forward Danton Heinen broke a 4 - 4 tie. Heinen would give the Penguins a 5 - 4 lead over the Rangers, recording a goal almost exactly midway through the period, and it would be that goal that would prove to be the eventual game winner for the Penguins who would eventually win by a score of 7 - 4.

After Heinen's goal the cameras panned over the crowd at PPG Paints Arena and showed a variety of Penguins fans celebrating in a variety of ways. Some were jumping up and down, some were screaming at the top of their lungs, some were waiving their towels, but one man was hoping to celebrate with something a little more special, a kiss. Thankfully he was accompanied by a very lucky lady so he closed his eyes, puckered up and leaned in for a kiss.

Unfortunately for our aspiring Romeo instead of being met with a warm set of lips he was met with stiff rejection in the form of a stiff arm to the jaw courtesy of our perhaps not so lucky lady. Unfortunately for our leading man the cameras caught it all, and the video has already been widely shared across the interwebs.

Here is the moment in all of its painful and unfortunate glory:

Here it is once again in gif form:

Ouch.
