Penguins get terrible injury news at worst possible time
This doesn't help their postseason hopes.
HockeyFeed
The Pittsburgh Penguins are in the fight of their lives to qualify for the postseason for what would be a 17th straight season, and they're hanging on by the skin of their teeth. Right now, they occupy the 2nd Wild Card spot with 80 points, while the Florida Panthers are breathing down their necks with 79 points.
And ahead of tonight's game against the Dallas Stars, the Penguins got some very inopportune injury news. Goaltender Tristan Jarry, who stopped 28 of 30 Colorado Avalanche shots against the defending Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche last night, is dealing with a lower body injury and won't play tonight. What's worse, there's no timetable for his return to action.
The Penguins have made an emergency call-up to their American Hockey League affiliate Wilkes Barre-Scranton Penguins, bringing up goaltender Dustin Tokarski.
Needless to say, this isn't welcome new for the Penguins, who are struggling just to get into the postseason.
