The Pittsburgh Penguins did not get off to the start they were hoping for in their opening round playoff series against intrastate rivals the Philadelphia Flyers, but it seems it may be too early for Penguins head coach Dan Muse to hit the panic button.

On Sunday, the Penguins got their first chance to go back to the drawing board and draw up a new game plan ahead of Game 2, but instead it was status quo as the Penguins hit the ice for practice. The Penguins rolled out the same forward lines and the same defensive pairings, perhaps feeling that the loss in Game 1 wasn't a personnel issue.

Here is how the Penguins looked during practice today:

Forwards:

Chinakhov-Crosby-Rust
Novak-Rakell-Malkin
Soderblom-Kindel-Mantha
Dewar-Lizotte-Acciari

Defensemen:

Wotherspoon-Karlsson
Girard-Letang
Shea-Clifton

There have been rumblings among fans about the decision to split up Malkin and Chinakhov who had seemingly found some good chemistry together, but it would appear that head coach Dan Muse does not agree.

The Penguins did come up just short in Game 1, losing to an incredible game-winning goal from Flyers rookie Porter Martone late in the third period. Whether or not sticking to the status quo will prove fruitful in Game 2 remains to be seen however.

Do you agree with the Penguins' decision to maintain the same lineup? Let me know what you think in the comments.
