The Pittsburgh Penguins played their most complete game of the season and beat their rival Philadelphia Flyers 4-1. The Pens limited the Flyers to only 17 shots. That shot total actually ended up being a record for fewest shots allowed against the Flyers.

The Pens have been on a roll as of late. Today's win was their 5th straight and it helped them pass the New York Islanders to now sit in 3rd place in the Metropolitan division. They are 1 point up on the Islanders and are only 2 points behind the New York Rangers. However, the Islanders do have 2 games in hand.

If the Penguins can continue to roll and stay healthy (which is often the question with the Penguins) they should have a good chance at finishing second and get home ice advantage at least in the first round. There is still a decent amount of hockey to be played, but the Penguins have put themselves in a good spot.
