Pittsburgh Penguins forward Reilly Smith was unavailable for practice today, but not for a negative reason.
According to reports, he and his wife Melissa are expecting the birth of their second child, certainly a valid reason to be absent from practice!
Smith has scored 12 goals with 22 assists for the Penguins, who are ranked 7th in the Metropolitan Division with a pedestrian record of 31-30-10 and are facing the very real possibility of missing the playoffs for the second straight year, something that has not happened in the Crosby-Malkin-Letang era.
