Penguins sign Jesse Puljujarvi to multi-year deal.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed forward Jesse Puljujarvi after a professional tryout offer.
Jesse Puljujarvi has earned himself another National Hockey League contract.
On Sunday, the Pittsburgh Penguins officially announced the signing of Puljujarvi to a new 2 year deal coming off the heels of a professional tryout offer. According to the official announcement, Puljujarvi's new deal will carry an average annual value of $800,000 per season which is a relatively cheap ticket from the Penguins' perspective.
Puljujarvi has spent quite some time with the Penguins at this point after signing his PTO with the Penguins back in December of 2023. Since signing his PTO, Puljujarvi has gone on to appear in 13 games for the Penguins American Hockey League affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, scoring 4 goals and adding 5 assists for a total of 9 points over that stretch.
Penguins general manager Kyle Dubas has mentioned that he was hoping to see Puljujarvi return to the form he had previously shown as a member of the Edmonton Oilers 2 seasons ago, a level that Dubas was hopeful Puljujarvi could attain after some time getting back into game shape in the AHL. It would appear that, based on this most recent announcement, that Puljujarvi delivered on Dubas' expectations.
