Penguins victims of a troll job by the Isles on the ice this morning?

Mind games being played ahead of Game 2 or fail?

The Pittsburgh Penguins jumped on the ice this morning at the Nassau Coliseum to get ready for Game 2 against the New York Islanders in order to get a different outcome from Wednesday night.

Josh Bailey scored 4:39 into overtime to give the Islanders a 4-3 win against the Penguins in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference First Round two days ago.

When the Penguins showed up on the ice Friday for the morning skate, it was reported by the team that “Party Hard started playing on the loud speakers at Nassau Coliseum.”

It got the team wondering if it could have been a troll job by the Islanders.

However, it is to be noted that the song got the players going and motivated, therefore the Pens also wondered if it was potentially put on by  a Penguins fan on the Islanders staff, or a coincidental good omen.

If the Islanders were trying to play mind games, it seems to have failed.

What could be a game changer for the Penguins is the fact that many key players were missing from that morning skate this morning.

Team insider Jason MacKay of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that the skate on Friday was aggressively optional this morning. There was no Jake Guentzel, Sidney Crosby, Bryan Rust, Phil Kessel, Patric Hornqvist, Brian Dumoulin, Kris Letang or Justin Schultz.

It remains to be seen the impact on the Penguins for tonight, however, they seem to be ready to Party Hard with a potential win to tie the series at 1.
