Pens' coach has immense compliment for veteran player.

The Penguins have been a force to reckon with in the last decade, there's no denying it. Many people will point to Crosby, Letang or Malkin to explain their success, but in reality all the lineups contributes to the team's success. It's not just a matter of giving the puck to one of the superstar and hope for the best in Pittsburgh, it's truly a team effort. 

One guy who's been around the rinks for a while has been a key element to the team's success, although he rarely if ever makes the headlines. Matt Cullen is a true veteran in the pure sense of it, and coach Sullivan pointed it out in a press conference today. 

This is a pretty huge compliment coming for Sullivan. Obviously, Cullen has a lot of experience but average coaches tend to see player as assets they control. Seeing Cullen as an extension of the coaching staff means he has a word to say about some decisions and outcomes. Of course, Cullen is known to be a pretty savvy student of the game, but stating it in public is something else.
