Pens have limited options and add coach Mark Recchi to lineup in practice
Despite the additions from the deadline?!
HockeyFeed
The Pittsburgh Penguins are getting ready to face the Los Angeles Kings tomorrow night in California, and so time is running out for the team to figure this out.
On Tuesday, the Pens started practice with assistant coach Mark Recchi slotted on the fourth line next to Teddy Blueger and Brandon Tanev.
Despite acquiring Patrick Marleau from the San Jose Sharks and both Evan Rodrigues and Conor Sheary from the Buffalo Sabres at the trade deadline on Monday, Recchi needed to fill in for Jared McCann, who was missing from the skate.
We wonder if Recchi could make a return for the Penguins’ next game against the Kings on Wednesday night.
The Penguins have no more options when it comes to adding outside help to their roster. They need to figure this out as they have lost the last three games and need to remain in contention for a playoff spot.
UPDATE:
The Penguins finally recalled forward Sam Lafferty on an emergency basis right after practice.
