The Winter Classic was just underway at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas when Stars veteran forward Corey Perry was ejected from the game.

Perry was caught when he drilled his elbow to the head of Nashville Predators blue liner Ryan Ellis, who was injured on the play.

Ellis needed help to get back up and exited the ice as referees review the play to determine if Corey would be assessed a major and a game misconduct.

As the crowd booed their decision, Perry took a lonely walk out of the Bowl and Preds went on a five-minute power play.

Moments later, the Stars were caught dumping the puck overboard in a delay of game penalty and the Predators capitalized on the 5 on 3.
Duchene recorded the first goal of the event.

Duchene and the Preds weren’t done: the forward notched an assist as Dante Fabbro added another on the remaining time of the man advantage.
