The Dallas Stars are not happy.

On Friday night, the Edmonton Oilers defeated the Stars by a score of 3-0 to tie up the Western Conference Final at 1-1, but the biggest talking point coming out of this one may not be the result. Instead much of the focus coming out of the game has been on the status of Stars forward Roope Hintz who was injured early in the third period in a controversial incident with Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse.

Fans have been furious in their responses to the incident on social media and, following the conclusion of Game 2 on Friday night, Stars head coach Peter DeBoer made no effort to hide that he was of a similar mind. DeBoer was asked for an update on Hintz following the game but instead used his time responding to the question to take a jab at the call on the ice, Oilers star forward Connor McDavid, and perhaps even the NHL's Department of Player Safety.

"I'll answer your question with a question," began DeBoer. "Does anyone in this room think if Connor McDavid gets carried off the ice like that, that it's not a 5 minute major? That's my answer to your question."

DeBoer was then asked about whether or not he thought there had been any intent to injure on the part of Nurse, but DeBoer again used his answer to complain about the call on the ice, a 2 minute minor penalty.

"Again if that's 97 carried off the ice in the same situation, I think we all know the answer to what that looks like for us," said a visibly frustrated DeBoer."

As for any injury update on Hintz, DeBoer had nothing to share.

"No, I don't have anything yet," said DeBoer when pressed on the question.
