With no firm start date for the 2020-21 NHL season and with few options to train locally, current and past members of the Vancouver Canucks hired a helicopter pilot to take them 6,000 feet in the air for a quick game of pond hockey.

No, seriously...

Canucks players Elias Pettersson, Thatcher Demko, Alex Edler, and Zack MacEwen were joined by former Canucks Troy Stecher and Jason Garrison to play some pond hockey on a frozen lake in the mountains north of Vancouver. The journey was documented by New York Times photo journalist Gerald Narciso and frankly, the photos have to be seen to be believed.
