The Stanley Cup playoffs are right around the corner and that has every hockey fan around the world thrilled at the prospect of getting some real high quality hockey in the coming weeks.

Of course everyone is also quickly getting their playoff brackets done before the playoffs officially get under way, and some are even making those playoff brackets known to the public. The latest example of this comes to us courtesy of former National Hockey League star P.K. Subban, with the former player turned ESPN broadcaster revealing some rather bold predictions in his playoff bracket.

Here are a few of the more notable ones:

Colorado Avalanche knocked out in 2nd round.

For the entire 2025-26 NHL regular season the Avalanche have been far and away the most dominant team in the league, but Subban has them bowing out early with a second round exit at the hands of the Minnesota Wild showing up in his crystal ball.

Buffalo Sabres win first playoff series in nearly 20 years.

The Sabres are coming into their series against the Boston Bruins as the favorites, but this one stands out if only due to the fact that the Sabres haven't won a playoff series since the 2006-07 season... yes really.

Edmonton Oilers come up just short once again.

Perhaps the most heartbreaking portion of Subban's bracket features the Edmonton Oilers once again coming just short of their ultimate goal. The Oilers once again lose in the Stanley Cup Final to...

The Montreal Canadiens are crowned Stanley Cup champions.

I'm not sure if there is a little bias at play here with Subban being a former Montreal Canadien himself, a former Montreal Canadien with a deep love for the city of Montreal no less, but he has predicted the Canadiens to go all the way. Whether a little bias is at play or Subban genuinely believes in the Canadiens to go all the way doesn't really matter, this is one heck of a bold prediction either way.

Here is a look at his full playoff bracket:
