TRADE ALERT!
This story will be updated.
After a busy night and a few hours of calm on Friday morning, we have a trade.
According to Emily Kaplan and other insiders, the Minnesota Wild have traded for Bobby Brink with David Jiricek going to the Philadelphia Flyers.
This is sort of a return home for Brink, who is a Minnesota native. A pending restricted free agent this summer, he is a talented winger that has recorded 13 goals and 26 points in 55 games with Philly.
Brink is reportedly on his way to Vegas to make his Wild debut tonight against the Golden Knights.
As for Jiricek, this is another move for the a sixth-overall pick joining his third organization in his fourth post-draft year. The defenseman is only 22 years old.
It sure feels that after winning the Gold Medal at the Olympics in Milan as the general manager, Wild GM Bill Guerin is going all in this season. On Thursday, the Wild added more depth, acquiring veteran blue liner Jeff Petry from the Florida Panthers in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick in 2026.
They also acquired Michael McCarron, trading a 2028 second-round pick to the Nashville Predators for fourth-line center earlier this week.
And let’s not forget how the Wild acquired Quinn Hughes in one of the biggest trade of the season back in December.
Serious business going on in Minny.
