DETAILS INSIDE
When it comes to hockey, there should not be an open door policy.
Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Olli Maatta learned that the hard way on Tuesday, as an innocent looking play turned into a scary moment on the ice.
During the Penguins matchup against the Minnesota Wild, Maatta was shoved innocently by Wild forward Nino Niederreiter into the boards.
Unfortunately for Maatta, the Wild bench door opened and he slammed hard into the opening. Maatta remained down on the ice until his teammates helped him to the closest locker room.
Maatta appears to slam shoulder first into the divide, which doesn't bode well for the 21-year old with a history of shoulder injuries.
Hopefully the injury isn't a serious one. It sure looked brutal though.
