Dan Hamhuis suffered a brutal injury last night.
The scary incident occurred during Wednesday night's matchup between the Vancouver Canucks and New York Rangers, when the Canucks' defenseman took a puck to the face.
Hamhuis was beside his own net trying to break out of his own zone. He wound up giving the puck away to a Ranger and as he tried to make up for his mistake, he found himself in the path of a booming slap shot from Rangers' D-man Dan Boyle.
Hamhuis takes the puck to the face and remained on the ice in obvious pain. Hamhuis was unable to return to the contest and was taken away from the arena by ambulance.
According to Canucks head coach Willie Desjardins, Hamhuis lost some teeth, may have broken his jaw, and will spend the night in hospital.
Just brutal.
