Video: Habs player in extreme pain after blocking shot, leaves game

When a player goes down after blocking a shot, it is never a good thing, especially when they lose their glove and constantly check their hand.

This was the case for Brendan Gallagher of the Montreal Canadiens who blocked a shot from Isalnders defenseman Johnny Boychuk. The shot went off Gallagher's left hand and he went down immediately in tons of pain. Gallagher is a tough guy so if he went down like that, you know it was for a reason.

He stayed in the play continuously checking his left hand and when the play was over, went straight off the ice and into the Habs clinic. When you see something like that, you can almost figure he might have a broken finger.

He will not return to the game. As you look closer on the replay, his ring finger doesn't look to be in good shape.
