Possible turnaround and return for Carey Price!?
Former NHL goalie Martin Biron explains how:

News have been grim for Montreal Canadiens’ Carey Price. As you know, it’s been reported that he suffered a training setback and may miss the entire 2022-23 season, if he isn’t forced to retire and end a 15-season NHL career.
Last season, Price did manage to return to action last April, after missing the entire 2021-22 season up until that point after checking himself into the NHL’s Player Assistance Program, as well as rehabilitating from offseason surgery. For his combined efforts, Price was awarded the Bill Masteron Trophy for his perseverance and dedication to hockey. But unfortunately, it’s been looking like Price’s career could be over: the veteran goalie was scheduled to meet with a doctor in July, but the appointment was cancelled. Habs GM Kent Hughes then announced that Price would be unlikely to play in the upcoming 2022-23 season, casting a shadow of doubt over his future hockey career.
However, former NHL goalie and now hockey analyst Martin Biron explained on the air of the radio show “Les amateurs de sports”. on 98.5 FM in Montreal how Price could manage to return to action over the weekend. This is translated from French:
“There are always little miracles on the medical side that can change things, but I don’t think it’s realistic to see Carey Price come back in 2023. We saw Mario Lemieux come back… We saw Guy Lafleur come back… You can see that after several seasons, but now, at 35, with knee problems like that… I played with Rick Dipietro one season. He had knee problems, he had surgeries and despite the fact that he always said he was coming back, he had to retire.”
Listen, I am an optimist too, but the fact that Biron ends his speech with the DiPietro’s situation isn’t reassuring… We all know how his career turned out and how he ended up hanging up the pads at only 32.
But Biron might be right: there could be a chance that Price will one day be able to return to the game. However, I am not sure we can say it will be in a Canadiens’ uniform…
Why don’t we say that Price’s career is probably coming to an end and then get the surprise of a lifetime if Biron is correct and he does return.
Less hearts will be broken this way I believe…
