Potential signs of trouble between Montreal and one of their star players.

Oh boy this would be the last thing Montreal needs, a conflict between one of their star players and the management.

In a recent article from Sportsnet writer Eric Engels has revealed comments made by P.K. Subban earlier this week, and although he didn't express any direct discontent with his current situation, it's clear the implication was there.

“Right now I’m 27 years old, and an NHL career goes by really fast,” Montreal’s $72-million defenceman P.K. Subban told Sportsnet Wednesday. “I’ve already signed my deal; I’m not playing for it. I’m not in this for any other reason but to win, and I don’t want to wait to win. I want to win now.”

The message is clear, Subban wants to win as much as he can while he is in the prime of his career, and given that generla Marc Bergevin has either failed or refused to make a deal to help his team Subban's frustration is entirely understandable. Engels believes Bergevin must act now before it's too late.

If Bergevin isn’t willing to scour the market for a short-term solution at right wing, he must turn to prospects Sven Andrighetto, Charles Hudon and Michael McCarron — who have been among minor league affiliate St. John’s leading scorers — and force Therrien to put them into scoring roles.

One thing is certain, a disgruntled P.K. Subban would be a nightmare for the Habs.
