Preseason Stanley Cup odds produce surprising results.

The 2025-26 National Hockey League regular season is finally here with games officially set to get underway just a little over 24 hours from the time of this writing, and as is usually the case oddsmakers are now working overtime to project who they believe will be crowned champions at the end of this season.

On Sunday, Money Puck released their new Stanley Cup playoffs predictions which includes a list of who they believe to be the favorites to win it at all, and the top 10 has produced some very interesting results.

The Florida Panthers may have an uphill battle when it comes to their odds of making their dreams of a three-peat a reality, with the Panthers only barely making it into the top 10 with an 8th place ranking. The Panthers have of course been devastated by injury with both star forward Matthew Tkachuk and captain Aleksander Barkov both out with long term injuries this season.

Instead the top spot has been taken over by the team the Panthers have defeated in the Stanley Cup Final in back to back seasons, with the Oilers securing the top spot in these new rankings. The Oilers are just 1 of 3 Canadian teams to crack the top 10 this time around with the Winnipeg Jets and Toronto Maple Leafs both earning spots in these preseason predictions as well.
