The Toronto Maple Leafs are taking on the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night and although the Canadiens are well out of playoff contention, and were in fact the first team to be mathematically eliminated from the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs, this is a game that has important playoff implications for the Maple Leafs.
If the Maple Leafs are able to secure a win over the Canadiens this evening they will cement their spot in the playoffs, which means that on the other side of the equation the Canadiens have the chance to play spoiler for a night.
