The expansion draft is forcing a number of teams to confront some harsh realities, and that is going to be leading to a lot of trades in the coming days from teams who don't want to lose high-quality players for nothing.

As a result of one of these predicaments, Jonathan Willis has proposed a trade between the Minnesota Wild and the Boston Bruins in a recent article for Sportsnet, and it's a trade that could help alleviate some of these issues.

The Wild are currently in a position where they will almost certainly lose one of their top-6 defensemen and as a result Willis believes they should attempt to move Jonas Brodin to the Boston Bruins.

In the proposed deal Willis would have Brodin as well as a 5th round draft pick traded to Boston and in exchnage the Bruins would give up their first round draft pick this season, as well as Colin Miller.

Miller was rumored to be on the trading block a number of times this season, and while the key piece in the deal for Minnesota in this deal would be Boston's first round pick, Miller still has 1-year left on his current deal, and would be a restricted free agent at the end of that term.

For the Bruins Brodin would give them an experience defenseman to place alongside the likes of Charlie McAvoy and Brandon Carlo and he would be under control through the 2020-2021 season at $4.16 million per season.
