A deal that makes sense for both sides?

Proposed trade between the Maple Leafs and Golden Knights.

The Las Vegas Golden Knights have suffered a number of injuries at the goaltending position, and that may provide them with a unique opportunity to acquire a backup goaltender on the cheap.

In a recent article for The Hockey News Jared Clinton proposed a trade between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Las Vegas Golden Knights, one that he believes could benefit both sides.

The Maple Leafs have goaltender Curtis McElhinney sitting in their system, primarily playing in the American Hockey League, and his 169 games of National Hockey League experience could prove valuable to the Golden Knights.

The Golden Knights would have a veteran backup to hold down the fort while their players recovery from their respective injuries, meanwhile Toronto would clear roster space that would allow them to bring up Calvin Pickard, a player they acquired in an earlier trade with the Golden Knights.

While Clinton did not touch on what the Leafs could expect back in return, in this type of mutually beneficial deal you would imagine it would be some kind of mid to late round draft pick.

Would you make this proposed trade?
