If there is any player on the New Jersey Devils that needs a change of scenery, it's Michael Ryder. After a seven-game stretch following the All-Star break where he was made a healthy scratch, Ryder was back in the New Jersey Devils lineup and saw 9:24 of ice time. As an impending unrestricted free agent, could be a candidate to be moved prior the March 2 trade deadline. He will likely receive more ice time as it is looking like Lou Lamoriello wants to see if he draws interest. Ryder has been having a bad season in New Jersey and has scored only six goals in 43 games this season. However, Ryder is a proven playoff producer as evidenced in 2011 when he recorded 17 points in 25 playoff games en route to a Stanley Cup victory with the Boston Bruins. A team looking for some offensive punch could look into Ryder, as his uncharacteristic season does not mean he can't turn it around. "Whatever happens, happens. I just want to play hockey and win," Ryder told Tom Gulitti of Fire and Ice. "I know I can help a team - help this team if I'm here or wherever else. If I get traded, I get traded. There's not much I can do about it. I'm not losing any sleep about it." Ryder added he hasn't spoken to general manager and interim coach Lou Lamoriello about being traded. "Lou's professional about everything," Ryder said. "He's got to do what he sees is best for the team and whatever he thinks he's got to do. So, I'll guess we'll have to wait and see."
