A player has been suspended by the PWHL for the first time in the league's short history.
Taylor Wenczkowski's name will go down in the history of women's hockey, although it probably won't be in the manner that she would have liked.
On Saturday, the newly minted Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) announced the first ever suspension in the league's history. Boston's Wenczkowski will have that dubious honor after a hit she delivered to Ottawa's Amanda Boulier clearly went high.
This suspension is very similar to the type of suspension you see in the National Hockey League for this very same type of hit, and although Wenczkowski has the unfortunate honor of being the first she almost assuredly will not be the last.
