This just in, the QMJHL has announced that Halifax Mooseheads forward and Nashville Predators' 1st round pick Zachary L’Heureux will face no discipline for allegations that he speared a fan in the crowd following a loss against Gatineau yesterday evening. L’Heureux denies the allegation that he assaulted a fan in anger and the league says that without video proof that they cannot make an appropriate ruling.

"In the absence of video evidence and impartial witnesses, the QMJHL will not impose disciplinary sanctions following yesterday's game between the Gatineau Olympiques and the Halifax Mooseheads", a statement from the league's PR manager Maxime Blouin states.

According to French language outlet TVA,  a mother posted on Facebook last night that her 16-year-old son was speared by L'Heureux when leaving the rink following a 3-2 loss to the Olympiques. No one was injured according to testimonies posted on social media.

According to TVA, L'Heureux has already been suspended eight times in just over 27 months in the QMJHL, including three times for high sticking and two for unsportsmanlike conduct. Honestly though... I'm wondering if that's a translation eorror because that's an insane stat line... this guy must be descended from Ogie Ogilthorpe himself!

It's also worth noting that the skilled forward has 18 goals and 37 points in 24 games this season and, to a greater extent, 79 goals and 185 points in 158 outings since his debut on the junior circuit. He was selected 27th overall by the Predators in 2021.
