Quebec shuts sports down entirely, reports that Canadiens will be shut down long-term
The latest from La Belle Province.

Quebec has enacted new COVID-19 restrictions today with some serious implications for youth, minor pro and professional sports leagues throughout the province.
More than that though, the province has closed bars, restaurants, casinos, theatres, gyms, movie theatres, concert venues and yes, sports venues, immediately. Additionally, schools will be closed until at least January 10th.
All of this is being done in an attempt to flatten the curve brought about by the recent surge in Omicrom variant cases in the province, which topped nearly 5,000 new cases in the past 24 hours.
In the sporting world, the province has banned fans from attending any sporting event.
This, obviously impacts the Montreal Canadiens, but also the AHL's Laval Rocket, the dozen Quebec based teams in the QMJHL and the entire LNAH, which is a lower-tier minor professional league.
The Habs, of course, are on pause until at least the New Year but with these restrictions in place until at least the second week of January, there's real concern that the Habs will be forced to sit on the sidelines even longer than initially thought. Thoughts, Habs fans?
