Philadelphia Flyers radio broadcaster Tim Saunders has issued an apology for the suggestive remark he made and was caught on air last night during the game against the Buffalo Sabres.

During a third-period commercial break, the radio broadcast remained live, and Flyers play-by-play announcer Tim Saunders delivered a now-infamous hot mic joke, while his analyst, former Flyer Todd Fedoruk, attempted to clue Saunders in.

The moment quickly caught the attention of social media, with fans sharing the clip and laughing at the candid, playful exchange.

However, the Flyers came out with a statement on Friday and have issued a two-game suspension in response to the incident, to which Saunders has now issued the following statement and apology, promising to hold himself to higher standard moving forward.

Despite the fallout, fans are still laughing at the clip, which keeps trending all over social media.

Saunders will miss the Flyers’ next two games, one at Madison Square Garden against the New York Rangers on Saturday, December 20, and one at home against the Vancouver Canucks on Monday, December 22. He will return the next night when the Flyers visit the Chicago Blackhawks.

Saunders, 60, has been a game voice for the Flyers since 1997.
