The New York Rangers looked like they were headed for a contract dispute with forward J.T. Miller after he stepped up his game in a big way in the 2015-2016 season.

According to a report from Tim Wharnsby of CBC Sports the Rangers and their former first round pick have settled on a two-year deal, in many ways a bridge deal, and that report has since been confirmed by the Rangers organization.

The Rangers did not however disclose the financial terms of the contract, but according to Wharnsby the pay structure of the deal breaks down as follows.

Year 1: Miller earns $2,500,000

Year 2: Miller earns 2,750,000

Miller's season saw a significant jump in production and it's a good price for the Rangers, but if Miller continues his upward trajectory, this could be a costly deal for the already cap-strapped team in the long run.
