Rangers demote Matt Rempe to the AHL
Tough start to the season for the hulking Blueshirts forward.
This just in, the New York Rangers have officially demoted 22 year old forward Matt Rempe to the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack.
Check it out:
The 6'9", 255 lb native of Calgary, Alberta has had a difficult start the to the season, playing poorly in his first two games of the season. Rempe's spot on the Rangers' 4th line has been taken by 24 year old Swede Adam Edstrom thus far and Edstrom has earned the opportunity to nail down a full-time spot with the team moving forward.
By the same token, Rempe has earned the right to play professional hockey and he'll now get to do that at the AHL level. The big man put up eight goals and 12 points, along with 96 penalty minutes inn 43 games with the Wolf Pack last season.
