Wow what a huge break for New York.

The New york Rangers have a huge piece back in the line up this evening.

Rangers captain Ryan McDonagh has made his return to the Rangers roster for the first time since injuring his hand back at the start of the month. McDonagh had blocked a very hard shot off the back of his glove, and it resulted in a broken bone, a long-term injury.

Even with the absence of McDonagh the Rangers were able to steal away home ice advantage after an impressive performance in Game 2 in Pittsburgh, and now they will be an even stiffer test for the Penguins with him back in the line up.

It's unclear how much McDonagh will play this evening, he appeared to look like he would be on a lower pairing during warm ups although that could change as the game goes on.
