The Rangers lost one of their core forwards on Monday night, but as of right now it's still unclear for how long.
Dan Giradi was injured when he took what looked like a relatively hard shot from Boston Bruin Torey Krug to the hand, and while it was effective in blocking the shot on goal, it left Girardi in obvious pain.
Much to his credit Girardi did not immediately head to the bench, but when he did arrive there the look on the trainer's face made it clear something wasn't right, and Girardi was forced to leave the game, he would not return.
It's unclear what the extent of the damage , all we know is what the Rangers have told us, and that is Girardi has suffered some form of laceration to his hand, we have no further details at this time.
