With around half of the country’s infections, New York state has become the epicentre of the COVID-19 outbreak in the United States.

As of Tuesday evening, there were more than 25,000 positive cases in New York state and at least 210 deaths, according to state figures. Most of the cases and deaths have been in New York City.

New York officials have been racing to essentially double their hospital capacity to up to 110,000 beds. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said there could be a peak need of 140,000 beds.

A solution is needed.

It is believed that the Madison Square Garden offered the use of its entire facility to both the city and state of New York as a site for a Coronavirus hospital/medical facility during crisis.

However, Cuomo’s office determined MSG would not be ideal for the purpose; gratefully declined.

It is still a beautiful thing to see that people are willing to help one another in times of great need. Please stay home and stay safe.
