Rangers pull trade on free agency opening day to make room on their cap

The New York Rangers are making room on their salary cap. The Arizona Coyotes acquired Patrik Nemeth, a 2025 2nd round draft pick and a conditional 2026 2nd round pick from the Rangers in exchange for Ty Emberson.

The Yotes are gathering all of the picks, but the Rangers have to be delighted with the fact that they do not retain any of Nemeth’s salary, per insider Chris Johnston.
