Rangers urgently seeking help on the trade market
Despite this season’s record, the Rangers need help.

The New York Rangers are off to a good start this season, but there is no denying they need to adjust as they move forward into the campaign. That’s because they lost forward Sammy Blais to a long-term injury earlier this week, and that made their desire to get a boost even more pressing.
That’s why Darren Dreger reported on Thursday night’s Insider Trading on TSN that the Rangers are looking to the trade market to land some help up front.
“The Rangers have been in the market for a forward for quite some time. And I think it’s been amplified by the fact they lost Sammy Blais for the remainder of the season earlier this week, So, Chris Drury, the general manager for the New York Rangers, is looking for a middle-six forward, which isn’t a term we use often in hockey. That can be a third-line player or someone who can punch into the top six. But U.S. Thanksgiving normally nudges the trade market a little, so there’s nothing on the front burner but definitely Rangers are on the hunt.”
Thanksgiving is less than a week away and so we could see GM Drury on the move shortly. Especially with the urgent need in place.
Blais is expected to be out for the rest of the regular season for the Rangers because of a torn ACL in his right knee that requires surgery. We can expect GM Drury to look for a fitting replacement that also does not eat too much into their wallet.
