The Calgary Flames appear poised to trade veteran defenseman Rasmus Andersson, so much so in fact that it appears as though Andersson may have said his final goodbyes on Saturday.

Andersson and the Flames faced off against the New York Islanders on Saturday, picking up a 4-2 victory over the visitors from Long Island, but it would be his actions after the game had officially wrapped up that garnered all of the attention.

After picking up the big win at home, Andersson stood by the door to the locker room and gave each and everyone one of his teammates something of a personal greeting. Although this could have been interpreted as a normal celebration under normal circumstances, this was anything but. Andersson is of course rumored to be on the move, and this felt very much like Andersson was taking a moment to appreciate all of his teammates one final time.

Andersson didn't just appear to say goodbye to his longtime teammates, but he also appeared to have a little goodbye for the hometown crowd as well. Andersson was named the third star of the game and, as he skated out to accept the award, he went out of his way to acknowledge the crowd in what may very well have been his final time skating at the Saddledome as a member of the Calgary Flames.

No trade has materialized just yet, but one is expected to be announced in the coming days.
