Rasmus Dahlin's wife shares a beautiful message on social media

Buffalo Sabres captain Rasmus Dahlin was nominated for the Norris Trophy as the NHL's best defenseman earlier today, alongside both Cale Makar and Zach Werenski.

This is the first Norris Trophy nomination for the 26 year old former 1st overall selection (2018) and the first time that he has led his team to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

All of this is to say that things are going quite well for lately for Dahlin. And frankly he deserves all the good things that are happening to him after all he has experienced on and off the ice in recent years.

For those unaware, Dahlin and his fiancee Carolina Matovac has been through some pretty heavy stuff in the past year.

Last offseason, Carolina suffered massive heart failure while on vacation in France and nearly died. She was kept alive through hours of CPR and was on life-support for weeks. She received a heart transplant and, by a miracle, was declared healthy after months of recovery. The most tragic part of the entire ordeal is that Carolina was pregnant at the time of the heart attack and lost the baby.

Today, healthy, happy and resuming her life with her soon to be husband, Carolina posted a beautiful message to social media praising Rasmus and congratulating him for persevering through tragedy to be named one of the world's best defensemen.
