There have been so many rumours on how defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen could get traded by the Buffalo Sabres, and now the blue liner himself is hoping the move will take place before the 2020-21 season.

In a call with local media, Ristolainen admitted that he is getting ready to be moved.

“I want to win, if it’s in Buffalo or somewhere else, and I feel like when a team doesn’t get to the goal that is playoffs, I think you need to make some changes,” Ristolainen said, as quoted by the Buffalo News . “If changes will happen, I know I’m one of the first ones probably who is going to get traded. It’s part of the business and I’m ready, whatever happens. I have really enjoyed my time in Buffalo. It’s home for me.”

The 25-year-old still has two-years left on his contract and comes with a $5.4 million salary cap hit. He is hoping to play for a contender and his attitude might have finally pushed him out of Buffalo.

“When you put in so much hard work every summer, you work hard in every practice, it makes it even more frustrating because we weren’t even close again,” he added.

The Sabres just recently decided that GM Jason Botterill will be back for the 2020-21 season. This angered fans and might have pushed Ristolainen to say enough is enough and pray hard to get traded!
