How about that?
The Detroit Red Wings are off to a healthy 6-3-2 start so far in the 2022-23 season thanks in large part to the several offseason acquisitions made by general manager Steve Yzerman.
And several of Detroit's new roster players have made an immediate impact on the Red Wings success so far in the young 2022-23 season. The likes of Dominik Kubalik and David Perron have gotten off to torrid scoring paces, while goaltender Ville Husso has firmly stated his case to be Detroit's starter with a sparkling 5-1-1 mark and 1.86 goals against average.
And a duo of Red Wings in Kubalik and captain Dylan Larkin have accomplished something that hasn't been done by a pair of players donning the Winged Wheel since the 1992-93 NHL Season. With 15 points apiece, they're the first two Red Wings players to reach that mark through the first 12 games of a campaign in 30 years.
Kubalik has certainly proven to be a shrewd signing by Yzerman after being cast to the curb by his former club in the Chicago Blackhawks. And Larkin continues to prove himself worthy of being named one of the top centers in that National Hockey League thanks to his strong play and timely scoring.
