The Detroit Red Wings are back in action tonight against the St. Louis Blues, the first of a home and home series against their former Central Division rivals.
And ahead of tonight's matchup, the team has announced an "emergency" call up. Forward Matt Luff has been called up from the American Hockey League Grand Rapids Griffins:
As you may remember, it was Luff who was injured thanks to a dirty hit from behind from Montreal's Juraj Slafkovsky in November. He's appeared in seven games with Detroit, scoring one goal. Meanwhile in 28 games with the Griffins, he's scored eight goals with 17 assists.
The Red Wings take on the Blues tonight from Enterprise Center starting at 8:00 PM EST.
