The Detroit Red Wings are back in action tonight against the Buffalo Sabres, and needless to say, they're unofficially in "must-win" mode after their inexplicable five-game losing skid that has seen their lead in the Wild Card spot dwindle down to zero points.

While the New York Islanders finally lost a game last night, it propelled Detroit back into the second Wild Card spot. But that's little consolation for how things have gone for them lately, especially with the absence of Dylan Larkin, their captain and arguably most valuable player.

For tonight's game against Buffalo at KeyBank Center, the Red Wings have announced that defenseman Jake Walman will be slotted back into the lineup, while Justin Holl will once again be coming out. Additionally, goaltender Alex Lyon will be back between the pipes after James Reimer got the start on Saturday night against Vegas.

Thankfully, the news for Michael Rasmussen is positive after it looked like he may have suffered a potentially serious injury following a shot block that unfortunately directly led to the Vegas game-winning goal over the weekend. Despite immediately leaving the ice and throwing his glove down on the ice in frustration, he'll be back in the lineup for tonight's game.

The Red Wings must stop the bleeding and start generating points in the standings if they are to finally end their lengthy postseason drought.
