With the Detroit Red Wings short on right handed defenseman following this month's trade of Filip Hronek to the Vancouver Canucks, general manager Steve Yzerman has made a move towards remedying that void.
Defensive prospect Antti Tuomisto has been signed to a two year entry level contract that officially kicks off next year.
Originally a second-round pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft by Detroit, Tuomisto spent two years playing in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains at the University of Denver, and has suited up this season with TPS of the SM-liiga in Finland. In 60 games played this season with TPS, he's registered five goals with 15 assists.
