The young blue liner has gone under the knife.

Detroit Red Wings defenseman Simon Edvinsson has gone under the knife, and will be on the shelf for a while.
It was announced earlier this afternoon that the Swedish blue liner, who appeared in nine games for the Red Wings this year, underwent shoulder surgery and will miss the next four-six months in recovery.
Because of the recovery time, there is a possibility that he could miss Training Camp and perhaps even the beginning of the 2023-34 regular season.
In the nine games Edvinsson played in, he tallied two goals with no assists. In 52 games played with the American Hockey League affiliate Grand Rapids Griffins, he scored five goals with 22 assists.
