The worst possible result at the worst possible time
This just in, Detroit Red Wings head coach Todd McLellan confirmed to the media today that captain Dylan Larkin will be out of the lineup for at least two more weeks.
McLellan also confirmed that Andrew Copp will also be out at least two more weeks and David Perron will be out at least another week.
From McLellan today:
Larkin hasn't played since March 6th after suffering an apparent rib injury after taking a cross check from Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Brayden McNabb.
The Red Wings are currently holding down the top Wild Card spot in the NHL's Eastern Conference, but they cannot afford a dip in the standings over the next four weeks. To say that Larkin's injury could be a season-ender for them is not hyperbolic in the least.
