Although they missed the Playoffs for the first time in 26 years, the Red Wings are still considered a world class organization. One major key to their success is the scouting department, who finds superstars hidden in the bushes around the globe. Combine these hunting skills with convincing arguments and you build legacies, Detroit's way.

According to Ansar Khan, columnist for Mlive.com, the Red Wings are in the hunt for a very promising Swedish forward named Victor Ejdsell. You've probably never heard the name before, but Ejdsell is very promising. First, his size has people in awe, at 6'5'' and 220lbs. He's a big, physical two ways centerman who was surprisingly never drafted. He had an amazing year in the Sweden league, scoring 57 points in 50 games. He's basically a very promising project who is set to turn 22 only in June.

With a projected cap space of about 6M$ for next year, the Wings could use a rookie on an entry level contract. If Ejdsell decide to go with the Wings, he wouldn't charge the huge price of a proven star and it would leave a nice margin for other players contract extensions.
