He's sticking around.
The Detroit Red Wings announced earlier this afternoon that forward Michael Rasmussen has been inked to a four-year contract extension, keeping him in the Motor City through 2028. He had been set to become a free agent this summer.
The deal is worth a reported $3.2 million per season for Rasmussen, who was Detroit's 1st pick (9th overall) in the 2017 NHL Draft.
The Surrey, British Columbia native has scored 11 goals with 12 assists in 55 games played this season, along with a +12 rating.
He's racked up a total of 47 goals and 62 assists in 293 career NHL games.
