Red Wings lose both Jake Walman and Ville Husso on the same play
When it rains, it pours.

Things just are now going according to plan right now for the Detroit Red Wings, who inexplicably trail the Anaheim Ducks, who had lost 14 of 16 coming into tonight, by a 3-0 score after the first period of play at Little Caesars Arena.
What's worse, they're now down a pair of key players. Both defenseman Jake Walman and goaltender Ville Husso were injured just seconds apart from one another during a late period penalty kill. Walman blocked a shot and was immediately hobbled, while Husso appeared to pull something while stretching to make a save.
Walman has since returned to the game, but Husso wasn't as fortunate. The Red Wings have announced that his night is officially over:
The Red Wings need to figure things out in a hurry, because they're in the midst of an ugly slide. There's still plenty of time to go in this game, and as we've seen throughout the NHL, almost no lead is completely insurmountable.
