Detroit Red Wings prospect Theodor Niederbach ran afoul of the Swedish Hockey League thanks to his hit to an opponent's head, but his club is appealing the decision.
Niederbach, who currently plays for MoDo Hockey, caught Timra’s Axel Rindell with a high hit and was given a match penalty and ejected from the game. In addition to being suspended for the next four games, he was also assessed a fine of what is the US equivalent of just over $600.
