Red Wings prospect Nate Danielson has been traded

He was Detroit's 1st round selection in 2023.

With the 9th pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, the Red Wings selected Nate Danielson, a 6'2 center from the Western Hockey League's Brandon Wheat Kings. He arrived in the Red Wings organization highly regarded, having scored an impressive 33 goals and 45 assists in 2022-23 for the Wheat Kings. 

And in his first taste of NHL hockey this past fall in exhibition play, Danielson impressed. But after scoring 12 goals and contributing 14 assists in 26 games played with the Wheat Kings this season, he's now on the move. 

He's been traded to the WHL's Portland Winterhawks in the closing minutes before the WHL Trade Deadline:

And for anyone worried about his standing in the Red Wings organization, you needn't be. The deal in the WHL has no effect on his future in the NHL, and he remains a highly touted prospect with a bright future wearing the Winged Wheel.
