It sounds like the Detroit Red Wings want to add at least one more piece to the puzzle before they hit the post-season.

According to a report from Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Disptach the Red Wings have been targeting veteran Blue Jackets defenseman Fedor Tyutin for a potential trade that would bring the blue liner to Detroit.

Despite being 32 years old, and playing for one of the worst team in all of the National Hockey League Tyutin has had a respectable season, registering only a -4 after over 40 games played this season with Columbus, and as a defense focused player he would make a solid addition to the roster.

Tyutin would not be a rental however, he has two more years of control left on his deal, and that means an increased price at the deadline, he also carries a cap hit of $4.5 million, something the Red Wings will need to consider if they acquire him for the next two seasons.
